About Val – The driving force behind Give the Dog a Comb!
A few years ago, I met up with a 6-week-old, Old English Sheepdog bitch named ‘Cherry Row Honey Bee’.
From the time the huge puppy was sick on my lap on the way home from the breeders, right up until now, Val and the renamed ‘Rosie’ have been inseparable and loving companions.
When Rosie returned from a grooming session with more knots than she went in with and a bleeding claw, I decided I had to find out how to groom Rosie myself.
After moving down to Dorset, I attended intermediate and advanced Dog Grooming courses at Kingston Maurward and I am now a professional qualified advanced dog groomer City and Guilds 7750-3.
Having a long-haired dog like Rosie led Val to specialize in long-haired dogs which a lot of groomers shy away from, although she loves working with all dogs and breeds.
I am a professional dog groomer that offers a one-to-one service in and around Dorchester, Weymouth, Portland and Bridport.
Our salon
Our new purpose-built and fully air-conditioned salon was completed in July 2014 to ensures we can provide a gold standard service.
All our equipment is modern and our washing station and drying table is hydraulic, which supports our specialism in grooming all breeds of dogs
The whole salon is a ‘wet-room’ and we maintain a clean and clinical environment for our customers.
